Need for Speed: Pro Street
It is mobile version of NFSPS(Need For Speed:Pro Street).
It released on the 26th of October for Europe and 30th October for North America. For this version, EA inserted 16 officially licensed racing cars to take on 8 rivals on a total of 11 racing tracks. In the game, player wins cash in order to tune cars or purchase new cars.
“We are very excited to release another great mobile version of this racing franchise that is so popular with our fans,” said Travis Boatman, VP of Worldwide Studios at EA Mobile(TM). “Need for Speed ProStreet delivers the adrenaline-fueled racing and drifting that you’ve come to expect from the Need For Speed franchise, while offering accessible gameplay and controls designed specifically for mobile phones.”
First of all, don’t ask me where i got the game.
Google is God. Any mobile phone can run this game except some which do not support JAD/JAR, such as iPhone.
In the career mode, the cheapest car you can purchase is Toyota AE86. What?!
Yea, that japanese car from manga/anime of “Initial D“. Rest of the cars are too pricey. Sadly, the game is short. There are only 3 events, Battle Machine, React Team Sessions and Super Promotion(weird team name given). By the way, those events name are the team names of the particular area. Each event has 3 matches or races. That’s all. You have to race in 3 laps per match/race. One tip that I found out, as long as you can have “perfect” drift in the race, you surely will win. The drifting mode is very silly and easy. During the corner, you just have to press “5” button or “enter” button on your keypad and it will activate the drift mode. Your car will be in powerslide angle and at the top of the screen will have a bar meter. What’s going on?
Just imagine you playing some old school game in your GBA or something similar. You have to adjust the bar meter to the center by pressing “left” or “right” button. If fail to do so, then your car will flip. If you do it perfectly, then it will have a bonus “boost” and earn some “drifting” cash. The game is as simple as that. As long as you do the drifting, surely win. Once every event has been completed, there will be secret codes for console version of NFSPS to unlock some stuff.

Overall, the game is pretty short and simple. It is quite fun to play, for awhile. The graphics improve quite a lot compare to mobile version of NFS:Carbon. Less than an hour, you can complete the career mode. I rate it 7 out of 10. One more thing, PC demo is going to release on 2nd November 2007, this coming Saturday(Malaysia TimeZone).
