Small Mall in Town

I had just went to this small mall not long ago. This small mall is called, Green Heights Mall, which is located in Green Heights Housing (not far from Kuching International Airport). GHM is official launch last month ago (June). It is rather small, only 2 floors (excluded basement). I have just noticed something odd, most people no idea what is the name of this small mall, but they only know ‘Cold Storage‘.

Cold Storage is a supermarket but with ton of imported goods. If you looking for rare imported food, Cold Storage is the only solution. But remember, the price tag is rather pretty handsome. It can be said that majority of the goods at there are rather pricey compare to our normal supermarket.

Do you know how much this 400ml coca cola cost? RM6.99 That’s a big ‘WOW‘. Besides Cold Storage, there is another very familiar outlet. It’s called ‘Desserts‘, selling overprice ice-cream. If I’m not mistaken, this outlet is the third branch of Desserts, firstly opened at Boulevard then tHe Spring. It is free to try the ice-cream, and of course you feel awkward if you no buy any after you’ve tried-out.

On the top floor, nothing much to see. It is rather ‘blank’. Only a few outlets at there. There’s one unique outlet, called ‘Got Gift?‘. It is a gift shop, but rather selling unique goods/toys.

ITFusion (my first part time job’s company) is at there, but rather small.  Hopeless. ITFusion is an authorized Apple reseller.

Fyi, the GHM site is now in html version (which is done by me) and i guess ITFusion boss might change abit himself, previously it was flash site.

RainForest Preview {tHe Spring}

Yesterday (9th July), there was a sneak preview of RainForest in two places, tHe Spring and Boulevard. I went to tHe Spring instead. The event started at 7pm until 9pm.

RainForest Preview 01

The Rainforest World Music Festival is an annual 3-day music festival celebrating the diversity of “world music” formerly known as ethnic music held in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, that consists of cultural and musical workshop-oriented daytime events and the more concert-like music performances during the night. - wiki

I only managed to catch the Indian performers (Oikyataan). Honestly, this is not my cup of tea. I was at there around 7pm but the event had not yet started. It was not so crowded in that time. Sadly I didn’t manage to catch sweet girls Kan’id performs. The girls are just great.

Big Apple - {donuts shop}

Last couple of months ago, Kuching just had a so-called-donuts shop, Big Apple. It was very popular especially in the KL (Kuala Lumpur) there. It was superb-duperb packed/crowded. Big Apple (Donuts & Coffee) is opened in tHe Spring, again. As usual, it is superb packed with those desperate people. *nah, i weren’t one of them*

Big Apple in Kuching

I went there because of my sister, after watching Phua Chu Kang performances. Thanks to her, I waited for like 15minutes. Hell yeah~!!! *If I’m not mistaken, that day was a week or so since it opens* The below is a list of the donuts available.. Yummy

big Apple donuts list

Donuts are selling like hot cakes, oops hot donuts. The staff are hell busy like bees. Hmm, reminds me of ‘Bee movie‘, it is a great 3D animation movie and with great humor.

Big Apple - Busy working staff

Sadly, Big Apple is a very small place. It is not like ‘Starbucks‘, where you can sit down and enjoy your meal or drinks. Not all donuts are nice to eat. Some i feel ‘kena’ cheated by the cool name given. Fark~!

Big Apple - Donuts packs

Below is what I have bought. As you can see, the left hand side are yummy, whereas right hand side are worst and yucks, especially that ‘Pink Panther

Phua Chu Kang Special Appearance

From 25th to 27th April, 2008, tHe Spring (Kuching, Sarawak) has held a Uniquely Singapore Carnival. There is a special appearance of ‘Phua Chu Kang‘ in the carnival on 26th and 27th at 4pm.

Phua Chu Kang Pte Ltd (Singapore sitcom) revolves around the Phua family, most notably Phua Chu Kang (Gurmit Singh), a contractor who boasts that he is the “Best in Singapore, JB, and some say Batam

The event is over-crowded (as usual). To be honest, this event is only watching him give out the freebies and merchandises. WTF?! Yea.. That’s the main event. And of course, he would also add on his own special ingredient (his funny accent) while giving the freebies/merchandises out. He still wearing his same old clothing trademarks which are his yellow pair of boots, curly hair, a giant mole, and long nails on his pinky fingers :D

This guy (forgotten his name), damn freaking … He managed to be picked by Phua and he was trying to be funny on the stage. One of the his line (I managed to remember) was “where’s my Rossie (who is Phua’s wife) ?”
Phua managed to make fun of the crowds. One of his jokes is a conversation with a little girl.

Phua: What is your name?
Girl: XXXX (forgotten her name as well)
Phua: I CAN’T HEAR YOU!! LOUDER!! SAY ONE! (Loudly and with his funny accent)
Girl: ONE!!
Phua: SAY FIVE!
Girl: FIVE!!
Phua: SAY WHAT IS YOUR NAME? (That’s the damn catch @_@)
Girl: WHAT IS YOUR NAME!!!
*Everyone was laughing, damn him. The little girl just five years old and she really quite smart and brave for NOT cry*

In this event, he mostly mentions about Rossie into his jokes. As far as I know, he does not use his famous cliché/catchphrase, “Don’t play play” (pronounce as “pray pray” according to his articulation). In an odd way, he is singing in this event. And walla!? His voice really BAGUS!!! He is singing “Mandy” which is original sang by Barry Manilow.

Before he left the stage, MC asked him to sign on the banner. This event only last for around 25minutes. He will be on there again at same time and same place on today (27th April).

Friendster: Presure Party ‘08

PS: This info just got from some friends. Just quite lulz because such event also got organised. Friendster? Com’ on
