WHAT!!! SOFT TOYS @ Swinburne University?

What’s with those soft toys at the new bookstore? Who’s going to buy? This epic bookstore is located at the ground floor of main building of Swinburne Sarawak University Campus. This really make my day.

In fact, this is the first time I stepped in this cafe. Usually I went to the pandungan branch (bing! Coffee). This branch is more or less the same as the main branch. I’ve ordered one glass of ice-blended tiramisu, with one tiny piece of biscuit ontop. It tastes great. 

** To be frank, my blog has been quite slacking recently. My life has been busy awhile and I have this little weird disease, AKA laziness. Hopefully I would recover from this awful disease. 2008 is a good year for me, joyful indeed. Here’s my story, I have traveled to Kuala Lumpur in early of December (after my examination). Joyful moment is indeed shorter than I’ve expected. After the trip, I am back to face the reality world. 

Back to the present, it is quite packed at bing! coffee. We have a funniest moment, while playing with my funniest iPod touch. As usual, the dark sky is enlighten with beautiful sparking fireworks. 

** Sadly, I have a big spend on the year of 2008. But still, it is definitely worth for every penny that I’ve spent. Is it just luck or what? Lately I have managed to grab few good opportunity in ‘working’ world, such as designing some brochures and web designing. So, I hoping to spend less and earn more in this brand new year of 2009. 

Hope I’m not too late, HAPPY NEW YEAR OF 2009!!!

The above picture is taken before the soft-opening. Sadly the opening day was not that ‘great’ comparing to the other malls such as tHe Spring, Boulevard & GHM. According to one of my friends, he mentions that it is pretty crowded during the morning section.

There is lucky draw event at the ground floor and you-know-who is the organizer, DIGI.

As you all know, this is ICT mall. So, not much to tell here. There are still tons of empty outlets for rent. Besides that, there are some non-ICT outlets, such as kitchen appliance outlet, hair salon, and etc.

I’m very impressed with the food court. The food court, SAMBA ZONE, is located at the most upper top floor. It gives a very classy and modernism environment. In my point of view, I think it is the best comparing to tHe spring’s food court. Samba equips with three luxuriously LCD TV, just like atmosfera cafe. Food wise, I have no comment on this because I have not try any of the food.

The whole mall is covered with deConneXion WIFI, which is free until 31 Dec 2008 according to the deConneXion site. Sadly, I have a pretty bad experience with this service. Oh well, it is still great because you still can be able to get ‘connected’ as long as you are inside the mall. And I end up buying one item, iPod charger for my Touch, which only costs 20buck. 

Colors! is a painting application for your iPod touch/iPhone. It is firstly developed for Nintendo DS. It is not so powerful as photoshop but it is better than your-one-and-only MS PAINT (default painting application on windows platform). Colors! is based on modern painting techniques originally developed for drawing-tablets, it allows to adjusting brush size, opacity, soft-edge, hard-edge and dynamic brush size/opacity via accelerometer (tilting left/right). And one cool feature of this app, it allows to play the whole drawing process.

I have draw a Red Apple. (Yeah, NOT too good piece of artwork). It’s a bit tough to draw since using your finger tip to draw. Need more practices. I’ve used roughly 30mins to complete it. As I’ve mentioned before, it allow to playback your artwork process. Below is the-speedy-video on my Red Apple.

Or you can go to Colors!-Red Apple to view the my Red Apple process. It is indeed a must app in your iPod Touch/iPhone, especially you are keen in ART. Colors! has two version, FREE and PAID. FREE version disable the save feature. 

It’s not iPhone but iPod touch, 2nd Gen. The picture above looks really like a dummy, right? Due to some stupid reasons, Malaysia here was delayed. Only until now, 2nd Gen iPod touch just on store but with limited stocks. Well, I get ‘Touch‘ from Hong Kong instead through a friend of mine, with much lower price.

• Small-tiny polishing cloth

Why I say so? Gingerbread House is not only a normal bakery shop but also a ‘light’ cafe. It provides drinks, cakes and breads (of course). And one more thing, WIFI is also available and ones can online at there while enjoying those delicious breads.

Sadly the area is pretty small, even at the bread section. I have bought some buns, blueberry cheese stick, tuna onion bun and etc. ‘Ginger‘ is not my favorite, so didn’t get any ‘ginger‘ bread.

Starting on today (30 September) 6pm onwards, Switch (Cg Computers) gives away ‘Apple Pie‘ for any mac users who own macbook or iMac keyboard. Apple Pie is a silicon-based keyboard protector skin and worths RM59. It is only limited to 50 ‘Apple Pie‘ per outlet The promotion ends at 5th October.

Wait a minute, did i say RM59? Gosh, I seriously don’t believe it worths so shitty price, 60BUCK!!! And I think I was the first guy who get it in my local Switch, @ tHe Spring, Kuching.

A new 2nd phrase Microsoft ad campaign just released awhile ago. This time, Microsoft uses Apple’s stereotype of ‘get-a-mac‘ ad. Previously it was Gates/Seinfeld ad and it was kinda a big EPIC failure. I’m not really a big fan of ‘get-a-mac‘ ad because Apple really indirectly bashing Microsoft’s Windows and lately the Apple ad getting directly bashing Vista instead. Microsoft never return the favor until now.

The Microsoft version of ‘I’m a PC‘ really is a great marketing ad and it really shows that PC’s are not just used by people in offices in suits (like PC guy in ‘get-a-mac’ ad), but by people of all walks of life.  

What a surprise that Google actually sent me a mail from USA. Is it a cheque? OMG OMG OMG!!

Nothing more and nothing less, it’s just my Google Adsense PIN. Hehe… Anyway, thanks for readers that support me. Hehe

There have two types of section, one is indoor and another is outdoor. The indoor environment is rather romantic in a sense that the lighting is pretty cozy and ‘reddish‘ candle light atmosphere. In addition, it also creates the Italian style/atmosphere with some unique furniture, such as the lamp post.

The farewell dinner is at the outdoor section. The outdoor environment is considered good as well. Again, it is in Italian atmosphere. Each of the tables will have a real rose to spice up this planet of ‘love‘.

That dinner we didn’t order drinks but we drank ’skyjuice’ with lemon. Haha. After experiencing the classy atmosphere, I had a pretty bad feeling about the ‘price’. Yeah, it is indeed no cheap food.

Majority of the dishes are Italian food. We had ordered a couple of dishes, such as lamb chop, fillet, beef steak, Italian pasta and etc. Each of the dishes served in a huge and heavy plate. They all tasted pretty delicious and worth for the price.

I had a great dinner at there. Thanks to my old classmate, Ee How, who will be going to UK (University of Nottingham) in this coming Monday (15th September).

“With great power, comes with great responsibility“

This seems extremely risky if ones goes wrong direction. It might create a mini-blackhole instead during the collisions. But some scientists say that it can be ‘easiler’ decayed.

There will be a few steps or phrases. So, once the first beam is established, the next steps, taking place later in 2008, will be to accelerate and then collide two beams. It is rather a short event, but it is quite interesting. There are ton of different type of cats, such as exotic type and also wildcats, such as Persian. They are all kept inside a small little cage, what a pity. Ton of people taking pictures of the cute exotic cats. Not only that, you are allowed to carry those cats with a price (of course).

The activity not just for ‘showing off‘ those cats to the public but to bring public awareness that caring for the animals, not only for cats alone. There are some group of people giving some speech regarding how to care cats and etc. Sadly I only manage to take one shot of the wildcat. The wildcats are usually huge, can be said similar size like baby tiger (cub). This wildcat is called, Maine Coon, not Moon Maine. [Thanks to the commentor, HORATIO for the correcting the name]

Speaking about moon, moon cake festival or formally, ‘Mid-Autumn Festival‘ is just around the corner. There are few stall sell moon cake @ tHe Spring, on the center of it. By the way, they selling durian favor as well, the smell is darn strong.

Google Chrome is open source browser and just like Mozilla Firefox. It is a WebKit, open source application framework, and just like Apple Safari browser.

First impression:

• It is pretty cool to have another browser on the INTERNET.
• It is definitely a pretty lightweight browser and with simplicity layout.
• It is easy and simple to search by typing in the URL bar.
• It is pretty fast to load the web pages.

• It has no add-on or plugins supports
• Some websites have problem rendering
• No ‘Home’ button for the keyboard shortcut

Google Chrome is indeed a rip-off browser for all main browsers out there, IE7/IE8, Firefox, Opera and Safari. All the good ‘ideas’ have been taken it out and put into Google Chrome. It is kinda like ‘rojak‘ browser. From the simplicity layout, it is actually based on IE7 abit. Chrome can allow user to drag out the tab to be independent windows or other way around, this is based on Apple Safari ‘idea’. Chrome has a feature to be able to track down your most view sites and can be reload at once in a single tab, that is based on Opera ‘idea’ which is speed-dials. There are a lot of similarities. 

What’s unique about Chrome? Each tab has its own process. So whenever ones tab crashes, Google Chrome will not crash its own. There’s no other browser works in such a way. But it is a bit annoyed, see the above image. It creates chrome-babies along the way under your windows task manager.

Lastly, it is still a very early stage to judge this Chrome. The official link won’t give you the full version of installer. That’s mean you have to online to download and install at the same time. Below is the offline installer that I have found.
